Simon Sixteen is a Namibian recording Gospel artist, song writer and entrepreneur. Born on 29 August 1987 in Menongue Angola as, Simon Chikwata Musa to Christian parents Mr. Manuel and Mrs. Rebecca and a third born of 9 siblings. He started singing at the age of 9 with his brother Titus, whom he followed to join in a choir, after being baptized in May 1997 and he grew up singing in church and at funerals. At the age of 10, his father a strong fan of late Steve Kekana bought a cassette of Kekana and Omega radio, which accelerated his love for Gospel music. In the year 2000 onward, he started listening to other Gospel artists, whereby he came across the music of his role model Dumi Mkokstad from South Africa. Simon Sixteen fell in love with his role model music, which inspired him also to start writing his own songs, recorded and released his solo debut album titled: VANA VA NJAMBI VALIFUA {God’s children are the same} in December 2017, which he commercial released in January 2018. He recorded the album at T7 Studios of Araffath Muhuure, a well-known Namibian music producer. Prior to his album release, he collaborated with his former classmate Moses Victolinu and produced a hit song titled, Njenda muvusivua yange {Walking in a shadow of sorrow alone}. This song made him to be nominated in the category of Best praise song in 2016 at the first edition of NGOMA awards and in January 2018 he was nominated in the same category at the second edition of the same awards. Since then, he has looked forward to work-hard and cement his name in the Namibian and global Gospel arena. Currently working on his music videos and second album to be released in 2024 and dream to feature his role model Dumi Mkokstad on one of his songs on his upcoming album.
