THE LIFE OF FRANCIS MWELWA
Francis Mwelwa, popularly known as “Ably Fresh Flair” was born on the 14th of May 1996 in Lusaka. He grew up in a compound called chilulu. He is a musician by profession and is a Christian by faith.
He was born of Rita Mwandwe and Rexin Mwelwa. He has three siblings namely Albert, Benson and Adam Mwelwa. His mother and father got divorced when he was seven years old. After the divorce, he and his brothers lived with their mother until they were struck by financial instabilities. This led to the four brothers parting ways. He and Adam stayed with their mother while Benson and Albert were put into the custody of their grandparents. He lived with his mother until the house they lived in was sold by his mother’s relatives. After this tragedy, his uncle, Jacob Mwelwa took him in and got him enrolled at Chaisa Basic School in grade one.
It was at this school where he was named Fresh. This was because he was very smart physically and mentally hence came the name. After writing his grade seven examinations, he went to Chibombo Secondary school where he did his junior secondary course. During his stay at chibombo, he could compose songs and practice with his friends as they made beats on desks. Furthermore, his nickname became even more popular such that teachers stop calling him by his forename. After writing his grade nine examinations, he moved on to Luangwa Secondary School where he took music as a subject and wrote his grade twelve final examinations.
This Youngman’s talent was actually revealed to his family when he was still at primary. During career’s day he would dress up as a musician and perform at his school. Not only that, his ambition even grew stronger when he was in grade nine. He became so ambitious that every time he was free, he practiced music. Just to prove how passionate he was about music, he released a song titled zimya neighbour immediately after writing his grade nine examinations. In addition, he helped his classmates compose songs for their grade twelve project. This helped him sharpen his talent profoundly. After he wrote his grade twelve examinations, he went forth and released another song called out of fashion. On this track he featured his best friend, John Mweemba also known as m-jayz. This song went viral in his area and many people were really amazed at how tremendous this boy was gifted. He later discharged other song named blue, pa myala and namiyewa. He is currently planning on shooting a video for his single namyewa. This young artist is looking forward to working with zambia’s most talented musicians and international artists as well.
Finally, when this young man was asked who his motivator was, he said he always looks up to his mother. This young man concluded that life does not always turn out the way you want it to be, but make the most out of every day that you get.
