Davy Sage is a Nigerian-born recording artist and songwriter. He was born in Nigeria but moved to Canada in 2010 to live with his sister. Davy grew up in the city of Ilorin, Kwara State in North-Central Nigeria. He was raised by a single mom alongside four siblings. Davy grew up around music, as his older brother was a DJ. This influenced his style of music. From listening to ‘90s hip-hop and R&B to Afrobeat and many other styles of the time, Davy sculpted his unique musical style. Davy’s style of singing is a mix of English, Yoruba, and Nigerian pidgin. Davy fuses West African musical elements with Western musical forms to create a unique musical synthesis that is typical to him alone.
