Rap Barbie Biography

Gabathuse Onthatile Ntlhane (Born 17 November 2003) ,professionally known as Rap Barbie, is a South African song writer, rapper, artist, jewellery designer and poet. Rap Barbie was born in Gauteng, Hammanskraal, Barbie is a multitalented female artist who's journey started embarking from childhood through growing with alot of hip hop influence in the household as her uncle played alot of rap music and specifically young money so she started writing her first rap lyrics in 2012 when she was nine years old influenced by Nicki Minaj.

September 2018 she decided to drop a single on SoundCloud titled aggression but professionally known as Lil Kimmy which had everyone shocked because she’s known for her shy personality, however, she quit rapping due to alot of personal reasons and never released again but started going back to post freestyle videos on her old Instagram account

On November 27 2023, when she posted a freestyle video on her Instagram reels and with her changed style with wearing coloured and blonde hair and her fashion sense, people started calling her barbie on Instagram and that’s how the name “rap barbie” was created, her Instagram followers were impressed with her skilled rapping to a point where they suggested she should start releasing music.
However, Rap Barbie faced a lot of challenges regarding finding a stable recording studio but kept on posting freestyles on Instagram reels since she also had enough time to contribute to her social after she took an unwanted gap year due to personal reasons, she posted the freestyle in hopes that she could attract music producers that could help with her music production.
However, it took a while for her to attract producers and start releasing music due to not getting enough exposure on top of experiencing financial struggles but it was worth the while since her first single, Magtig was a hit that was played on Moretele fm community radio.

Not only does she have a skilled rapping style with switching rap flows, fast rapping and honouring hip hop culture through her genius wordplay, she’s also a self taught jewellery designer who designs home made jewellery and has an interest in art as she draws as meditation as well as writing poems of self expression.

Barbie attended her middle school at Pretige College Hammanskraal finishing off her senior years at Pretoria Central high school based in Pretoria west. She is soon to embark on a journey of learning and getting her degree in hopes to a better future balancing her education and rap career.
